Accommodation

Bab Sahara offers a range of accommodations: from shaded spots for your own tent or car to a cosy caravan or air-conditioned huts with private bathroom.

  • Shady camping spots with electricity
  • Two stone huts with double beds, aircon and private bathroom
  • Room with 2 single beds and aircon
  • Caravan with double bed (our ‘love nest’)
  • Khaima: dormitory in a traditional tent with 4 single beds
  • Relaxing area (veranda, hammock)
  • Shared toilets, showers and washbasins

Restaurant

Enjoy delicious meals in our restaurant. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ask the chef what’s on the menu. Vegetarian meals are also possible. We cook with products from our own vegetable garden.

  • Breakfast 8.00-10.00.
  • Lunch 12.00-14.00.
  • Dinner 19.00-21.00.

Extra services

Drinking water

We are lucky to have clean and healthy drinking water. You’re welcome to fill up your watertank at our tap.
100 liter will cost 100 ouguiya.

Laundry

We wash, dry and fold your laundry
(no self service).

Meditation

Start your day with a meditation session guided by Ronaldo, Inner Peace.
From Monday until Friday 7.00-8.00 am.

Cinema

We have a small movie theater where we show all kinds of movies on an irregular basis. From Jacques Tati to James Bond.

Library

We have a lot of interesting books on the Adrar area and Mauritania. You’re very welcome to read them. Please return them afterwards.
We also have an exchange of books (in French, German, English and Dutch).

Postcards and maps

We sell a handmade map of the Adrar area, designed by Bab Sahara, a beautiful souvenir.

Also available: postcards, with or without stamps.

Exhibition

Discover our ‘private museum’ with geological and archeological artifacts spread all over our premises. Also check out the over hundred wooden doors of the old city of Atar. Feel free to explore.
